Dale or Kiwame resistor?

My riaa, i used 0.1 percent resistors, low ppm known brands nothing fancy, because of this i could buy 30 or 50 of each, and again match them on agilent 6.5 with kelvin probes, all o.1 percent resistors matched once more being pretty darn close , left and right, thats my approach, stereo Imaging is spot on, ps do the same thing with caps.

HI,

Appreciate your kind and technical information but I am not technical in this regard so hardly I understand it.
I just checked my resistors with multimeter and selected the two with the same Kohm, this is all I can do, ashamed but I have no electronic basic knowledge.

At last to play some music I set the gain resistor at 33 Kohm and despite the Kiwame has less noise sound wise I use Dale RN 65C 33 Kohm.

I did notice a different sounding between Dale and Kiwame despite I am changing only the 2 gain resistors. Some record I would like more Dale, some others records Kiwame.

Best regards

Adelmo

My go to site is Rod Elliot.
skilled guy, with very logical approach to electronics, do yourself a favour and check it out, so much rubbish on internet, this guy is kosher, and explains stuff so that i as a hobbyist can make sense of it.

Hi,

After several changes I set the gain with Dale RN65C 33 Kohm. Also I did check with several different cart impedance and finally switched from 330ohm to 220ohm.

Today after all the different tune up to my pre phono ( changed the gain and the cart impedance ), while I was playing some records myself, my wife without anyone asking said: oh , today the sound is really very good better than the usually! So I stopped to make further tune up since I think she has better ears than mine and I kept Dale with 33 Kohm and 220 ohm impedance.

However I plan to change the impedance brand ( Vishay z foil 2575 ) of resistor hoping may improve something more.

Thank you and best regards

Adelmo
