Oooo... Hi:

I have been modified this funny unit for few years ago... Actrally it id the very good staff....

I changed all of the resistor to the Holco and using the panasonic FC grade at the powersupply. Ofcoz you can use the OScon at the digital part....

Then I took out the PCB of the DITB and gave it the new bigger case, it made me easy to add on the other optional staff on this... I bulid the shunt regulator for the opamp use... And the opamp I made the convertsion board which like the LCaudio AD825 module but I made this in the DIP package...

The DITB should be using the OP275. I tired the following OPamps on this: LT1058, LT1028, AD797, AD811, HA5112.... Found that the AD797 provide the very musical and warm sound. LT opamps provide the very good sound staff and full range balance....

Ofcoz I seperate the powersupply for the Analog and the Digital... Becoz Analog part I using the Shunt regulator...

You know what it is my first project on modify DAC.... I did it at about 5yrs ago.... it makes me know more on the digital circuit...😀

What do you think of it now...?
I have just come across one of these and at the moment I'm trying to decide between keeping it in its "cute" but compromised enclosure with just modest mods.....or....put it in a bigger/better box and go for the works.

The works would include:
Bigger/better enclosure
All of the Kal Rubinson modest mods
Serious power supplies
Tent XO DAC with secondary PLL and reclocking
Possibly a new output stage (I have a HDAM waiting for a home)
Anything else that we come up with.....

the big question is....Does this little DITB deserve the works?
