I'd like to build a DAC from TI samples, but I'd like to know which chip should I use(For 44.1 or maybe 48k).
Last I heard.....
They are pushing the '1792 series. I have also heard that they aren't generous on this one. Who knows............

I guess I'll have to spend 20$ on a PCM1702, or if there are good ones in the PCM179x (Except the 2, which you wrote about)
Or if there are no good samples, I'll go with TDAs.

Didn't say that there were "no good" samples. The TI rep gave me dozens of '1738s......which I never tried, but was coy when I mentioned the '1792s.
At one time, they weren't making '1704s, and I had projects that used them. Supposedly, they wanted guys like me to stop using them. Then the '1792s started to get tight, and '1704s became available again. I have no idea what they are up to, but knowing TI, nothing would surprise me. Too bad they had to "rescue" Burr-Brown. It will only be a matter of time before they make it as screwed up as the rest of TI, and it vanishes.
$20 is cheap........look at the '1704.......AD1862.
The '179x series uses a much easier to fab process. It should be around for a while, once they figure out what they want to do with it. I would recommend looking at that series. Just don't expect them to gladly throw some at you.
They may......who knows.

For any semiconductor company, availability seems inversely
proportional to the goodness of the economy.
Right now, you should have good availability for most things...

Only the 179x are avail. as samples.
I think I'll go with the TDAs(4-5$ each) if I don't get samples.
