Hi Goodguys,
I am running an STXII and the 627s are very nice opamps. I have run two single channel 637s in the analog/buffer socket and they sound very good.
Am currently running the Sparkos SS3602 opamps in the same socket am currently only using the STXII for it's analog out.
BTW, the 637s cannot be ran in the I/V sockets on that card, but you should be fine running the 627s in them.

Hi. Thanks for the reply.
Sorry, i had given up on this thread thinking i would not get any more replies.
Thank you for helping.
I have ordered the ad797br, they are supposed to have a fast lively sound which i prefer, will have to wait until they arrive to fully see, but the opa627 have a reputation to be laid back, i'm not really into laid back sound.
The only thing bothering me is that the ad797br are the small smd type, and the ones on the stxII card are full size op amps, are the ad797br's safe to use.
Many thanks.

Hi,
The ad797br looks to be a single channel op amp same as the 627 and 637 ( check the spec sheets or call the manufacture for confirmation). The sockets on the ST, STX, STXII take dual channel opamps in each socket so you would have to mount two of them onto an adapter for them to work (see pictures at the following url).

Hope this helps...
Yes, the ada797br is on an adapter, 2 per adapter.
Will have to wait 2 weeks for the op amps to arrive from all the way from china.
I did find the opa627's very cheap on ebay. They are £17 each on digikey and mouser, but just £4 on ebay.
Apparently they arrive as untested, ebay sellers hand test each opamp then sell them on cheap.
But i wanted to try the ada797br because of all the forum buzz.
With my stxII the centre channel is coming out of the bass output and the bass output is coming out of the centre channel rca connector, do you get the same with your sound card.

Hi goodguys,
Just a heads up, beware of cheap opamps on ebay. Lots of phoney's and fakes out there.
I think I did read something about that channel issue on Headfi forums I think. I personally just run the STXII in stereo using the line outs so I have not experienced it myself. Of course the easy fix is just swap the connections, I also think someone said that the unidrivers fix that, but has been awhile since I saw the post.
