Are there any guidelines to stay within as far as MOSFET capacitance goes?
Not that I'm aware. I have always seen the capacitance as a benefit in
that it acts as a filter where you need one. No doubt there could be such
a thing as "too much", but I haven't explored it. Mostly I have looked to
have a transconductance high enough to get the input impedance down
well below 10 ohms.
