i have recently bought a cyrus iii and a cyrus dad3 q24. but both cause a huge turn on/off thump!?? it sounds rather nasty through the speakers. sometimes it's worse than others. i normally leave the system on standby but if i'm not around for a few days i will flick the rear power switch off and the amp gives of a huge thump. same when turning on, and the cd players power switch causes a thump when switched on/off if the amp is on? even with no i/c's connected.
so im thinking, should i replace the power switches on both units? to me they sound like they are arching? which is causing the thump? or should i buy a suppressor and fit across the switches?
thanks

If the switches are old they could need replacing.
A small capacitor across the switch will soak up the arcing.
