THANK's,so i don't have to put in any resistor for my cyrus 2 even i remove the balance control?so the blank the balance control place can i just leave it blank?
Hi. Sorry for not picking up your post. I understand the 2 is the same as the 1. If you remove the volume/balance pot it will leave 6 holes for the 6 pins of the Blue Velvet. The BV will then drop in with a slight bending of the pins. Nothing else is needed. The value of the pot is written on the side of the original pot and the BV, with rod & connector can be picked up from Hifi Collective (google this) for £20. I removed the original volume knob and balance knob and cut the balance knob down and glued it to the volume one to make a single dial. I then glued a new shaft inside the volume/balance knob to the right length and use the connector to the BV. I can then undo the connector if need be. The improvement was well worth the effort. At the same time I rewired the inputs I needed and swapped the input and record selectors (the input selector gets noisy) and fitted new RCAs at the back; pull the old ones off and rewire to the far end of the ribbon cable; the lines can be traced on the board. Overall this all made a real difference. I have not changed any of the capacitors as I am a bit of an idiot and need an idiots guide.
