I just bought a Cymbol CA3 integrated amp, i believe it to be a Tony Brady design who used to design stuff for Onix back in the 80's. Ive been very impressed with its music making abilities but it does seem to have a hiss problem, audible from more than just a few inches away. (is always there, even if the output is muted, and with no input. It also doesnt seem to be dependent on the volume setting)
I know Tony used to visit these pages, but its a long shot that he'll read this. So im hoping that someone else will be able to advise me.
I fed the pre-amp out into a power amp and it hissed audibly as well which would indicate that its the pre-amp section?
Anyone got any ideas? Be much appreciated apart from this niggle it really is a superb amp.
