Does anyone have any info on any semiconductor companies that would do custom transistors/fabrication?
I'm sure it would be an expensive endeavor.

I remember reading that Dan D'Agostino of Krell had custom output transistors made, NPN and PNP, 1 MILLION of each was the said minimum. They were from ON SEMI I think. Don't remember where I read it or if it is true but if typical run of transistors is that high it may have some truth to it.

Also found this manufacturer in China: MOSFET Chip/Wafer products, buy MOSFET Chip/Wafer products from alibaba.com There must be many more.
FM acoustics uses custom made BJTs or possibly relabeled ones.

Motorola (now ON Semiconductor) quoted me a special for only 10,000 pieces at $1.09 each for a custom P-Channel vertical FET in a TO-3 case.
This was a few years back, but it indicates that they will do a special for a small dollar and quantity amount.
International Rectifier wanted a million pieces.
Magnatec/Semelab decided to offer it as a special order part, no up front fees.
