Custom shapes and or mass to woofer dustcap

Has anyone ever experimented with adding shapes convex/concave to a woofer cone/dust cap?

The original cap on this woofer is concave and has poor top-end frequency response.

I'm looking to increase FR an octave or more. I understand I'll loose efficiency when adding mass.

Do you have some blown dome tweeters? You could try attaching them directly to the voice coil. It'd be interesting to see the before and after of that. It'll probably skip your target octave, but the results would be cool to see

You could try slightly smaller convex shaped dust caps, made of a light, well damped material. For anything to have a significant and broad effect on frequency response, I has to be optimally designed (right size, weight, place attached to cone). And even if you find optimal, it could still not be good enough though, which is why buying a driver with a more extended frequency response was suggested
