Too bad this thread died an early death...
I previously built a Baltic birch plinth for my 301 and recently found an 8 by 4 sheet of a much better quality plywood.
My plan is to cnc mill a 6mm aluminum top plate followed by 3 sheets of BB then a layer of acrylic, followed by 3 more sheets of BB and then a final sheet of 6mm Aluminum.
