I don't agree with you Jan, this is just simulation of the GainWire mk3 but real thing is not far to that.

My experience is from measurements only, based on many trials with the AD844, as well as the AD846 which is the same thing but with 10x current capacity, and, sadly, long obsolete (except in my parts drawer ;-).
I have also worked with the PA630(A) in several projects. Similar results.

In a way it mimics the experiences with CFA opamps, which of course share the same core concept, and which are very hard to get down to the distortion levels that voltage mode opamps can routinely get to.

But, low distortion is only one point in the performance landscape, and my paX amplifier, while not being super low distortion (AD844 based) is still, after 15+ years, getting rave reviews from people that hear it.
