Not to mention, Erin only tested 1 sample. 😉
Large signal linearity isn't something that's likely to change by much from sample to sample.
That is unless someone is afraid to see the measurements...
I don't really care how they measure. I know how well they work.

I was referring more to the offset which could have been an assembly fault. Just a possibility.
Sorry I misinterpreted what you meant by offset. I took that to mean some issue that became apparent in the Klippel tests that showed the suspension performed quite differently on the out stroke, compared to the in stroke.
For sure though, if the driver was off centre then that would easily cause higher 2nd harmonic then should really be there and significantly reduce the spec on any measured Xmax.

I wasn't clear 🙂
You're saying the offset apparent from the varied in/out in the Klippel would not likely vary between samples? Hmm. I suppose then it wouldn't matter.

Haven't seen any reliable sellers for SDX7 so far. How does the Exodus Anarchy 6.5" woofer compare to the SDX7 ?? both have the XBL motors with decent x-max and should be great for FAST configurations.
Solen has 3 of them.
I tried to by a pair of anarchys a few weeks ago, but Kevin only ships UPS to Canada. It Klippels really well and is like a great FAST woofer.

Hi
if you haven't got one up to now, try also Vollgang Vollstädt at Breitbandlautsprecher und mehr - SpectrumAudio
good luck !

Well it depends why or what was causing the offset. If it was caused simply by the cone being pushed in for a long period, so that the cone sat off centre, then yes, getting a new, non defective driver should solve the problem. If the offset is being caused by an inherent flaw or issue with the spider/surround, then changing to another sample wont affect much.
