The CS800 is solid state, so you can run it without a load. So you can run it up to clip to test the DDT circuit without having to listen to it.

thanks Enzo, I never knew you you didnt need a load on SS, I guess being an old tube man I never even thought about it, It has always just been a precaution to me.
