I thought this was interesting..

I remember in my early youth using Plasticraft to make paperweights..

Yeah and the heat build up must be fierce...

What you need is a two part casing made of diamond, so you can open it up and change the failed parts embedded on the top of the bottom half. Also, the diamond or diamondlike casing carries heat extremely well, and would function as a pretty nice heat sink, within limits.

I'm terrified to think of the cost, though.
