Crown XLS 602 Bridge switch mod

Hi all, I recently purchased an XLS 602 with the intention of using it in bridged mode to drive my bass bin. I assumed (wrongly) that this function was done through a simple switch on the rear of the unit only to find out later that I had to use some funky cable. I decided to take a different approach. Crown provided the schematics for the XLS 602D and after studying it for a while I decided to lift the circuit that they used to invert the signal from Channel A feeding the channel B input for bridged operation and use it in my 602. The mod worked great and I thought there may be others on this site like me who may want to do the same. I have a copy of the schematic with the mod along with a few pictures I took along the way that I can email to anyone interested. I would have posted them but the file size exceeds the attachment limits. Of course, this does void your warranty but in my case it really didn't matter ;-)

Hi Howard,

I bought a C-Audio GB202 power amp, the UK made predecessor to the Crown XLS202 and a smaller brother of your 602, a couple of weeks ago. I'd be very interseted in seeing your upgrade for bridge mode as I don't much like the idea of using the inverted A/B cable for gigs.

thanks,
