Crossover for sub

Hi

Im about to sell my old large subwoofer to my cousin.
But I used it active, but need the amp myself. Therefore I need to design a small crossover network.

Can someone help me doing so ?

This is the speaker:
http://www.monacor.de/produkte/Produkte/Details.cfm?aID=3251&UG=270064315

I though of a cutoff around 80-100 Hz, and I think I need to decrease the SPL (1W/1m) from 96 dB to 90-92 dB, so it can play normally with other small speakers (I dont know which)

Can someone design a crosover network for me?

I would like to connect to two voice coils i series.

i havent built my own crossovers-
i use a kit

it has 70, 90 , or 120 hz crossover points,2nd order,linkwitz riley type

if the efficiencys are too different -

if the sub is running actively on its own its eeasy
if its passive, then you need an attenuation circuit.

check your local library for details ,i have seen them in a speaker book.

when you say cut off of 100hz or so,you should specifiy Low pass or high pass.
for a moment, until i saw the driver i presumed u meant high pass.
i expect if you want low pass, you will want a high pass forthe main speakers too.

my subwoofer kit has Both.'
you can either buy a kit,or make your own completely.i would reccomend the kit i have, but i live in new zealand.

if you connect the coils in series to 16ohm,it wil lose efficiency..i think it will lose 3db ? some one correct me.
this puts it closer to what you want..

your speaker has nice specs :-D

🙂 Are you going to run this sub active or passive powered??

i would get a 4ohm small sub amp, wire the voice coils in parallel, and simply turn down the volume of the sub amp,or turn up the volume of the main amplifer for the mids, tweeters to make them equal.
