Has anyone built the Creatvie sound EZ Tube Shiva kit
http://www.creativesound.ca/details.php?model=EZTUBESHIVAP
$339 cdn, $279usd.
Ported tube kit with a Shiva driver. Contains everything needed to build a passive tube subwoofer.
Has anyone built this kit?
Any comments?
I am looking for low-cost DIY sub project that will give me flat response down to at least 20hz. Will be used mostly for movies, but also to augment my mains for music (mains change constantly, most usually bookshelfs crossed at 80Hz.).
Not much info found when I searched both here and the infranet.

I kind of doubt that goes to 20hz. I have not seen any reviews though. Try plugging the info into WinISD.
The grill on the port isn't a good idea IMO. I would have put the sock under the port instead of using a grille...
Otherwise, a nice design, probably worth it. It got the 20 Hz response you want too.

My prices show different from yours. I see 399 cdn or 349 usd.
The sock grill stops people from firing bottle caps into the tube. Hardly ruffles at all under load. Woofer sounds fine. Good starting point for many. Something other than a rectangular box.

Yeah I know that the grill is there for stupid people.
But I think they should put a larger grille maybe 2-3 inches higher.
I'd like to see THD with and without a grill at full power just for fun...
Other than that, like you said, a good starting point for sure, better than most commercial subwoofers on the market.
