Emphasis on the relatively -- doesn't look easy at all, actually. Looks like you drilled those holes from the extruded aluminum tubing -- and inserted a long piece of foam to damp vibrations? Getting a tonearm cable socket in the baseplate of the tonearm is very clever too, and probably was complicated to set up. Nope, not easy!I’ve made my self a new tonearm, based on the supertac tonearm, a really ingenious idea and relatively easy to copy.

But if it is simple for you, maybe you could make one for me!
I have a Technics SP10 mk2 in excellent condition with a power supply that was completely rebuilt some years ago. Made a simple BB plinth for it with 4 squash balls for isolation. I have several tonearms including Linn LVX, Rega-based models, etc, but they are all a bit too short to look right with the huge platter & plinth. What I need is a tonearm with ~10" spindle to pivot mounting. No desire to spend good $ on ridiculously priced old SME and other 12" arms.
This tonearm is not mounted, just sitting atop the board. It would have to moved to the extreme left/front edge of the armboard for proper mounting -- and that does not look good.
I am still curious about the ring that you made for your platter. Even though I like the idea, I would want it to be perfectly balanced as not interfere with the stability of the platter rotation.
Well yep , that's why I was so happy discovering the Supatrac, I'm not saying it's a weekend project it does need lots of tinkering until right, but with a good drill, patience and 40$ worth of material you can really go far. There are other nicer looking Supatrac copy on the net, worth looking them up.No desire to spend good $ on ridiculously priced old SME and other 12" arms.
Your turntable looks awsome, now it's time to put it on 1ton of concrete just for the sake of it 😀
Hmm, I was thinking of making a small rouler to verify it is perfectly positioned, but mehhhh, if it is unbalanced then I can't hear it.am still curious about the ring that you made for your platter
What I do hear is a definite upgrade over a central weight ( or clamp)... it just sits better and seems to give the poor cartridge a better chance of the impossible- that is, tracking a groove.
There are some clones I found; none with any real details. I guess I'll have to study the pics & PDF of the original & see what I can do. Looks like square carbon fiber tubing can be bought in small qtys, and I already have a collection of small neodymium magnets... But your fabrication skills are way beyond me. I'll have to go real slow.Well yep , that's why I was so happy discovering the Supatrac, I'm not saying it's a weekend project it does need lots of tinkering until right, but with a good drill, patience and 40$ worth of material you can really go far. A ton of concrete? no. 😆 But I might replicate your gravel filled column. Will see how the wall mount does when a tonearm is on that SP10.
