A dummy load is a resistive load a speaker is not. +
But I would check first the connection between head and cab, since it happen only with the 8 ohm cabinet I suspect the jack at cabinet to be faulty or simple it vibrates too much.
I had a 2x12 cab with a loose back panel, at high volume a good palm mute would throw the jack out of the socket 😀

Great idea. I checked through another Mesa Cab, same prob🙁

Just spent 20 minutes playing the amp dime'd across the board at 16ohm with zero issues. 8ohms...thats another story.
Could it be the OT?
Could it be the OT?
More testing
-two 8 ohm 4x12 cabs in parallel with amp at 4ohms. crackle.
-one 8 ohm 4x12 cab with an 8 ohm 2x12 with amp at 4 ohms. NO CRACKLE?
The 4x12 is a mesa with 4 v30s. The 2x12 is a peavey 4x12 in stereo, using only one side with sheffield something or others.
This is banana crazy now.
Anyone have any ideas?!

Found it.
Heater wires were too close to chassis causing the parasitic oscillation. I dont know why the chassis would be so susceptible, but raising the heaters 1cm from the chassis eliminated the sound.
Just thought I would close the loop on this.
