I'm researching options for the two coupling capacitors needed for the Simple SE board. This would be C11 and C21.
Certainly the Mallory caps as noted on the parts list are an economical option. I'm wondering if the Wima FKP box caps would fit on the board. The pin spacing appears to be about right. Mouser sells them (505-FKP1.22/630/5P3), but they're kinda pricey ($6.52 a piece).
I've used Sprague orange drops (715/716) before with good success. I'd bet they would fit reasonably well.
Finally, I've got a pair of the Russian K40Y-9 caps that I'd like to try. Unfortunately, the 1000V rated ones seem huge, and I'm not sure how to get them to fit on the Simple SE board.
Any advice?

I put some absurdly large 600v 0.22's on my ST35 board, just 'cause I had 'em. I just bend the leads around.
I used rather largeish Angela/Jensen copper foil caps on my Simple SE as well, and I had to do something similar, but less dramatic.
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
