Hello,
I have a Counterpoint 5.1 I want to put back into service. It last saw duty at line level only running my tuner, tape, and Cd's. It still works fine for doing that. However, I want to use it for my turntable now and Im getting quite a bit of noise when I put it into phono mode. Its not the typical 6DJ8 microphonic noise, it actually is like static. It doesnt quit when I unplug the turntable or when I switch out 6DJ8's. Im not sure if a cap has gone bad or if I have a few issues going on. This is an unmodified counterpoint I bought about 15 years ago. Its been a great preamp. Any ideas? Thanks Mark
