...I think the problem here is somantics. What you have done is a ground fill, which is the best that can be achieved on a one sided PCB. What is being suggested is that a two sided board with solid copper on one side connected to ground would work better...

Serious revision

This is two sided pcb, with some component packages flexibility. Top side(red) is ground plane and G1 to G16 are the b-side to t-side links with the pads on both sides.
This is my first EAGLE job, so please be gentile with the comments😉
