Also don't let the mucus build up to a point where it is hard to get rid of.
I have had the virus and felt it start to clog up my lungs.
Loads of very hot drinks steam up the lungs and loosen the mucus build up and make it easier to cough up.
I read a bit about the Spanish flu. They said people had a much better survival rate if they were put outside or in a room with all the windows and doors open.
I can only guess this stops build up of virus in the building and stops you re-breathing it all back in. They also suggested fresh air is more sterile and sunshine tends to kill off viruses. So I have been going for walks and have felt a lot better for it.
