Cornu Clones

I would like to attempt a build on a spiral horn similar to the Cornu. I believe I can build from a plan I have, however I would like to calculate different drivers. Does anything in ML King's worksheets address this type of calculation? If not does anyone know how to calculate? Also do you think its feasable with some creative carpenty to turn two of the horns to fire out the front instead of all firing to the sides? Will this expand the listening area or maybe just sound like crap? Thanks in advance for all the help I know I will receive. LOL Tom

MuaDibb, shouldn't you be off taking the water of life or something? 😉

The spiral horn is designed to be wall-hung so if you have the ports on the front you will be drastically changing the in-room responses, etc.

Yes thats the whole idea. I will probably have to resort to trial and error to test, I doubt if there is anything that would simulate this. My thought was to build as is but some people who reviewed stated they had a smallish listening area. So what if instead of operating on one plane you turn the sound of the horn outward toward the front on the right and left, leaving the horns at the top and bottom in their original configuration. Just a what if kind of thought. Im' looking for opinions of what this might sound like, I understand it will be different from the original design and sound.

Still contemplating building these speakers with design changes, any thoughts on making these floorstanding with a speaker in the rear also? That would be a dipole? I've seen other types of horns with this configuration, could this possibly work in this type of horn? I talked to Daniel about some design changes as suggested, all I got was " Hey give it a try ". So if I could get a few opinions, and I know there around here, I mean c'mon shoot me down, tell me it won't work and why I'm such a noob I can take it 😀
