Corner loading PA sub test and OMG

The cracks were not there before the TH was installed.
The house was built in 2005. We moved into it in 2009. The TH was built in 2012.

The 1st pic is the master bedroom doorway that is right above the 2nd pic mancave.

why does 60-120hz in a high order qw hurt so much?? It’s not a ’good’ sound
60-120 Hz boosted never really sounds good. Especially if the response above that is highly erratic. I built new kick bins several years ago, upgrading the old design to allow easy vertical stacking and smooth out the response while I was at it. They sound similar band passed 80-300 Hz. But the new smoother design is almost listenable run full range. The old design was horrible unfiltered. Hurt to listen to it, even at 50 mW. Either in a group of four could knock you on your ***, even with no subwoofer.

only linear response sounds good. the variation of what you hear must happen in the music.

and there is psychoacoustic

if you want music to sound loud then a cut off below 60hz can help giving this impression of loudness.

indeed you can turn the speakers much louder if you omit everything below 50hz

i often wondered if the impact and (unique?) punch of the -roar- or -paraflex- designs wasnt partially the very pronounced 'peak' at 2x (roar) or 3x (paraflex) the fundamental, but also the motorforce and delivery of sound through the long skinny air column instead of a big chamber and small port?

would a very large helmholtz type resonator bandpassbox have the same 'impact/punch'?

is there something to be said for placing the driver at the very high pressure end of a long qw resonator by comparison maybe

The yammies in the back are 12' from each other and 5' from the floor

The woofers (I'm not calling them subs ..as they are 50hz boxes 🤣) are to the left corner in the back

Yeah there is a door lol , it is what it is 😸

The boxes are 2' from the corner
Do I need to put them closer?

They are not touching the wall as you can see
In the below pic
And a mat...yes, otherwise they walk away!!
