Hello to all!
Does anyone have comments about using copper shielding
on top of digital chips in DACs? Is there a worthwhile sound
improvement? Should the copper be grounded to the circuit
ground, or to the 3rd wire earth ground coming into a DAC?
Many thanks in Advance!

I have never tried this trick with a dac, but have had success covering the tripath chip in my Amp6 with a copper shield (grounded to chassis ground).
Subtle improvements in smoothness and detail.

If it works, it does something for very high frequencies, hence the copper should be grounded very close to the chip (ground).
