Hey, here's an obvious product, but one a didn't know about:

It's a Blaupunkt hard drive based device that plays MP3's for your car stereo. It just plugs into your system instead of a CD changer.
The car head unit controls it , thinking that it is controlling a Cd changer using industry standard commands.
It costs a lot and only has a one gig drive. Come on, is there a way we can make cheap versions with 90 gig drives?

Holy crap! $450 and only one gig. I've got a 15 gig iPod you can buy from me for a low price of $1200, think of all the extra space you'll have.

Someone had a LCD + microprocessor mp3 player in production, ya just plugged a HDD to it, thats probably what ya after. Search the net i guess for mp3, hdd and car maybe?
I'm doin' the search, but the appealing thing to me is that it responds to the industry standard codes so it can be directly plugged into my head unit. I've got a Jetta that has a plug in the trunk (boot) just waiting for this device!
Otherwise Iwould just take advantage of Sheldon's generous offer 😉
