Converting Nitty Gritty from 110 to 220 V

I should get my NG record cleaner in the next week or so 🙂. I bought a US model as our local distributor is pathetic.

Only thing is, I believe the vacuum may pull 900 Watts or so making evenb an aoto transformer step down expensive. Can the motor be converted / wirted differently for 220 Volt? Like an Airpax turntabl;e motor? Anyone have any experience?

All help very welcome!!!

You'll need to open it up and check, but my KMAL recording cleaning machine has three motors (arm, platter, vacuum pump). I expect the NG has two (platter, pump). The platter motor might be adjustable, but I doubt if the pump is. You probably do need an autotransformer.

The other motors are human!!!

Ah, that's much harder. Humans can very rarely be rewired for 220V, even though it is possible (with great difficulty) to change their connectors from plugs to sockets and vice versa.

Good luck!
