converting a Maestro tape Echo to use a wall wart

I'd like to alter the circuit from my Maestro Tape echo (sireko se-1) so that I can use the unit with regular 9volt (for guitar pedals) or other like 12v or 18v wall wart power adapters and remove the giant bulky internal transformer, capacitor and fan and rehouse the unit in a smaller case. Anyone who is good with electronics can take a look at the schematic here (page 35 or 37):

which is very helpful because it shows the voltages as it enters each separate section. I'm not sure where to go to start solving this problem, but I'm sure someone out there does.

looks like you have a nice piece of classic gear there, it would be sacralige to re-house it.😱

that large transformer is there because the unit take a large current (relative to a modern piece of equip) so an external supply will also be fairly bulky, unless a switch mode supply is used. that would be a lot of trouble.

i urge you not to put it in a different case, keep it authentic,
let folks see that you dont go for the digital, pack up the fx in a pocket size box.

It is impossible unless the capstan motor runs off low voltage DC (it doesn't).

Best case you can acquire a SMPS that produces the requisite HV (B+) and the LV to run the filaments, that is lighter than the linear supply in the box, but not enough to make it worth the effort, imho.
