Convert an Acuphase T-1000 from 76-90 to 88-108

I don't understand it anymore.

Post #40 gives the impression that you did not manage to convert the tuner to the American model but just built the filter I suggested to correct the de-emphasis. Posts #41 and #42 suggest that you did manage to convert it.

It would work for me. Our local NPR station is at 89.1, and broadcasts Not Necessarily Nashville at 7PM Saturday nights. It's difficult, even for an old man, to be some place where one is allowed to just listen to the radio for an hour starting at 7PM Saturday nights, but I usually manage.

I live in the backwoods of civilization, but we have two public broadcast and one community radio stations here in town. All locally funded. Don't write America off yet.

Slava Ukraini,
Chris

Nobody writes it off . It tries to do it itself.
Our station is 90.9 . Public funded and no commercials.Jazz at night and classical during day. Warm , normal DJ's voices of intelligent people passionate about music , an oasis . Couple of stations from neighboring Canada sounding European and little bit of French music. Mexican Town is serving Cumbias and Salsas all day long. Kind of catastrophic SQ and something I'd laugh off just a couple of years ago but I found out I like to torture myself with that simple music in the car . The voices still have traces of old Bel Canto craft in this impossibly cheesy music and I will take frogs and crickets over Top 100 after listening to it for an hour.

Guys:
Just fooling around I connected my Topping E30 II to the digital output.

The SQ is now au jus.
It sounds like the violist has a bit of nasal congestion!

What you actually need is an RF frequency shifter. That would require an RF preamplifier to provide isolation and then a local oscillator with a mixer.

For decent results a two stage version would be best. Shift the entire band up well above what is needed and the down again to the target values.

However as you really are looking at a limited number of stations the design could be much simpler.

The phase noise of the extra local oscillator or local oscillators would worsen the ultimate signal-to-noise ratio, so it would increase the noise floor and thereby affect the sound quality under ideal reception conditions. Under less ideal conditions, suppression of undesired stations could get worse due to phase noise of the extra local oscillator or local oscillators (by reciprocal mixing) or due to intermodulation in the extra mixer or mixers.
