Controlling CM6206 SPDIF output?

Hi!

The CM6206 chip sits in a large number of 5.1/7.1 USB boxes (LogiLink, StarTec, VBantec). It has analogue outputs and an S/PDIF output that can be set to any of the four outputs, ie l/r front, center/sub, side etc..

Thing is that I would like to have my l/r/center analogue, but have digital for the surround speakers (wireless link).

I wrote a small program that wiggles the bits for the S/PDIF output and it works as long as the material is DTS or Dolby. For regular sound it mutes the speakers.

Anyone else run into this?

No idea. Have not been able to figure out how to read over USB 🙂

But I think that I have something that might be a workable solution. Have custom menu items in Kodi (OSMC) that wiggles the bits, ie "Surround on" and "Surround off". Default being off. Then I just have to select it whan watching somethis 5.1 or DTS.
