Console Restomod

Looking for suggestions for a console that I am working on for the wife. Here are the details.

Wife wanted a better table for a turntable that included storage for albums. Found a small console at an antique store.

It has an old 6" speaker that is crumbling. I was hoping I could fit a Betsy on the speaker baffle, but it doesn't seem feasible.

The baffle is 7"x 7.5" and the cabinet is about 15" deep. I thought about making a box to fit into the cabinet space to get adequate bass, but that will of course be much more involved than just mounting a speaker.

Planning on sticking with a single speaker and very small mono digital amp.

Main questions are around getting adequate bass for listening in a small room with a U-baffle/Open back vs a box (ported?). How much difference in usable bass will there be from the 2 options?

Console will be stuck in the corner and we're not really worried about super hifi imaging, more just pleasant sound - maybe a bit laid back.

I am looking at:

Visaton FR10-8
Visaton B100
FaitalPro 4Fe35
Tang Band W5-2143
Tang Band W6-2144
others?

If it fit Betsy would be a good choice. Not familair with any available 6ish” drivers suitable for OB. Perhaps someone with greater OB experience can chime in.

I do have a set of Korean-made OB drivers this side. Very few were ever built. You could contact me about them.
