I had a 'not good' experience purchaing irs2092kit with connexelectronic recently-2014 May. The core problem is that some parts are missing. Not match the parts discription of manual. And got a offensive reply to my compaining mail. No apology. I am so angry now but as foreign buyes, I can do 99% nothing.
Regardless the performance of the kit, I can't recommend deal with him.

email received sunday morning:
I received irs2092kit, but the kit part a somewhat inaccurate, and lack of pcs... for example there is 220nf 100v for c24. and there are only 3pcs 1nf 100v... Futhermore the marking in obscure.
HEY GUY, reply me. I have sent many mail to you about the item ... but you did no answer.
if you no reply about This case, I cannot but DO OPEN CASE...

my reply:
HEY !

1. make a list with all what you claim that is missing and I will refund the cost of those parts or send you again those parts.
2. what is obscure and what you don;t understand.
3. resend all the mails which you claim that I didn't answer.
4. open a dispute if you feel more comfortable and send all the parts back exactly as it was on your cost if you want a refund. but if you do that you'll be banned forever from purchase from us.

today is SUNDAY I hope you know

one of the previous mails:
Hi
You have not answered to my question about the item I bought. Moreover any shipping information is not. Are you busy? But its your business.
I dont want the answer any more. So give a thing as ordered.

my reply:
Please calm down and tell me the order number soi can check. If you sent any email in the last 24-48 hours wait patiently and will get an answer. Today is monday, yesterday was sunday....

Yes I see. I think there are some problem in communications.
I just want know now when it will be shipped. The order number is 1599.
I plan to purchase several amplifier component from different seller and must control import tax. So for me the shipping information is very important.
I know people-the diyaudio members- are saying you are confident seller.
Sorry for my hesitant and poor eng.

--------tracking information---------

Thanks for your fast shipping and attachment document files.
But the resolution of the schematic jpg file is too low to recognize.
Would you please resent the jpg file as more large file?
Thanks.

Quote from manual:

First, print the BOM corresponding to your amplifier kit power version, unpack the components and PCB, examine the parts and identify the parts based on their designator and values following the BOM. Make sure you have all the necessary components and try to not lose or damage any of them during assembly, as the amplifier will not work if something is missing or damaged. We double check the content before packing and shipping, and also weighing the components bag to make sure there isn’t weight difference between bags of components. Having ~100 components requires a lot of attention to have all of them packed dozen of times without missing something. In the unlikely event that something is indeed missing, contact us ASAP before attempting to replace the missing component with some wrong value which can damage the amplifier being built. Yet we shouldn’t be held responsible if any small component is missing (resistor, capacitor) especially if the parcel is opened at customs for inspection. A small resistor, diode or capacitor can be easily lost if the package is opened and inspected thoroughly.

Yep, he is right on the BOM are 4 pcs 1nF capacitors and seems that one could not be found. maybe I forgot to put it (everything was double checked so I doubt) maybe was lost if parcel was opened at customs or later....
this capacitor cost close to nothing, when I clean my worktable i sweep these parts into trash bin, so expensive they are. yet for some is a good reason to make troubles.
here we go back to post #17 fifth paragraph.

I think the important take away here is that communication is key. Unfortunately, that is easier said than done. The world may be round and separated by oceans, mountains, and even borders but for all intents and purposes the internet has made it flat. This means that lots of people who speak a variety of languages as their first language end up communicating.

If Cristi's first response was indeed the response that you received which you considered "offensive" let me say that as a native English speaker (which I'm guess neither you nor Cristi are) there was nothing offensive about it. It seemed straight forward and clear. Having the manual in hand, and product arriving today, there's nothing "obscure" that I can tell at all about this. The board schematic makes it all clear as day to me.

I really think that internet communication would be much better if we all tried to read things that others write at face value, and not assign our own assumptions of intent or emotion to them.

In any event, I plan on posting my own experience about building these modules here to give a representation of what the build is like based on someone with "novice" experience. Novice being that I have limited electronics and soldering skills, but that I do have proper soldering equipment (a decent temp controlled iron, proper tips, solder, and of course a carbon filter fan : -). And for reference, the most complex thing I ever built was an Elenco AM Radio Kit which is about 20 components - and is really just a project for kids.

I believe he had posted that questions should be asked at the Connex forum on his website for faster response.
That's been shut down. So I think it's read this thread and try to craft one's questions such that they end up in the ~50% of which do get answered (stat from post 17). I think a lot could be addressed with datasheets available pre-purchase, a FAQ, and submission guidelines in the contact form. But evidentially Christi's chosen not to go that way.

If you want I'd be happy to provide feedback and / or progress as I go.
If you can tell from the traces I'd be interested in knowing if it's pre or post filter feedback (combination is also possible).

Look at the schematics on the website , that's a pretty clear "pre" 😱
Amusing all those "demands" for a 16 dollar + some parts kit .😀
Cxd200 ,300 or 400 cost about the same , do the maths and enjoy a good amp !

I did the math before I purchased my kits - and I knew at the time, that the costs for the assembled modules probably made more sense than assembling myself, especially with the time required to do the work to assemble these. But that's hardly the point. 🙂 I wanted to put these together myself just for the satisfaction of having put these together myself...

On that note, I got my kits yesterday and started assembling the first board. The boards are smaller than I thought they would be. Everything was well packed. I didn't do a complete inventory check. But what I can say is that identical components are packed together. E.g. all of the 10k 1% 0.25w resistors (10 total per board in the kit I ordered) were packaged together, so that once I identified them - I had all in hand. The resistors were not marked with values - so I had to refer to the color chart. Other than that, it's looking pretty straight forward.
