connector replacement

hello,

opening a wireless receiver, I found a ribbon flying around with a plastic piece nearby.
I estimate contacts spacing around 0,5mm

Any information about brand, type ?

It is called an IDC for insulation displacement connector. You can find them at any of the big suppliers like Digikey. Just find the same exact number of pins and spacing and cut 5he old one off very close to the connector and squeeze the new one on.

It's not an IDC. In an IDC the insulation is pierced by a metal fork that makes contact with the conductor in the cable. With the connectors shown in Post 1, the metal pins in the connector grab onto the flex cable and the plastic bit that's broken off here holds the cable in place. Without that plastic bit, the cable will pop out.

The connector shown here is an FFC (Flat Flex Connector). Digikey lists them under FFC, FPC (Flat Flexible) connectors. 0.5 mm is a common pin pitch.
