A while back i purchased this 300B single ended amplifier kit:
300B Single ended Class A Stereo Amplifier Tube Amplifier Board Preamplifier PCB DIY Kit|Amplifier| - AliExpress
I love the sound of the 300b tube and the amp sounds great with my bookshelf speakers. However, due to the fact that it only puts out 8 watts per channel, even at maximum volume, the sound coming out of my speakers is just moderate.
So I had an idea for an experiment, but I need some expert help. I recently purchased the following kit based on the Marantz 7 preamp:
WEILIANG AUDIO Hetian Mao’s tube preamplifier board refer to Marantz 7 circuit|tube preamplifier|marantz 7breeze audio - AliExpress
My question is: can i remove the preamp tubes from the 300b amplifier and connect the output of my Marantz 7 preamp to the coupling capacitor of the 300b amp?
I am hoping that the Marantz 7 preamp has more gain than the 6SN7 tubes on the 300b circuit, producing a louder volume

Why not just connect the Marantz clone preamp output to the 300B amplifier input?
That's what a preamplifier is for. There certainly will be more gain, but not more output power.

I tried that, but it didn't sound right. What I was hoping to do was to replace the preamp part of the 300b amp with the Marantz preamp, hoping that the Marantz preamp had more gain than the one that is part of the amp.
Hopefully the dedicated driver circuit in the 300B amplifier can swing more volts than
a fake Marantz preamp. You need enough Vpp as well as just gain.
