I want to use my Ipod for my main source of audio in my car. But I am not sure how to setup the connection between the Ipod and the amp. The amp has an option to change the input sensitivity.

1) 100mV to 8.5V RMS Unbalanced
or
2) 200mV to 17V RMS Balanced

Here is the specs on the Xtant A2002 amp.

Xtant also builds a High Level Adapter that works with this amp. The HLA allows an amplified signal to work with the amp.

1) How should I setup the connection between the Ipod and the amp?

a) mini > RCA > AMP ( with the 100mV to 8.5V RMS Unbalanced setting )

b) mini > RCA > AMP ( with the 200mV to 17V RMS Balanced setting)

c) mini > RCA > HLA > AMP ( with the 100mV to 8.5V RMS Unbalanced setting)

d) mini > RCA > HLA > AMP ( with the 200mV to 17V RMS Balanced setting)

I know this is off the DIY topic, but I don't know anywhere where people know as much as you guys. 🙂

Thanks
Matt

I'd try driving the amp directly with the iPod (unbalanced input). If that doesn't give you enuff gain, then you will need the pre-amp (HLA)

dave

PS are you using the iPod with a Mac or a PeeCee?
