I am playing around with new dual cones of unknown origin and I had an unacceptable sharpness in the treble. The whizzers were very thin and very stiff. So I softened them with a haircare cream containing wheat germ oil and all the sharpness was gone within a minute.
Does anybody else have experience with cosmetical products?

When I also softened the cones (I found out that furniture politure containing avocado oil is even more efficient) the treble became more prominent again, so I cut away the whizzers. The softening is permanent, but it sounds better somehow as long as the cone is still wet (hard to describe). I`ll get some glycerol to get the cones wet permanently.
