Hello,
I have a projector using a 250w HQI bulb, and would really like a boost in brightness. I already have new fresnel lesnes that are the correct size 12", but they have a much longer focal length and I am afraid that if I install them, I am only going to decrease the brightness due to the longer distance the light will, internally, have to travel. I am getting interested in installing a condensor lens to reduce the space between the light and the fresnel, but am not really sure where to get one, what kind of properties are good/bad, etc. I currently have no reflector, but have tried installing them to no avail, the image gets no brighter.
any advise on what to get, where to get it, etc would be great. Is the diylabs one a good choise?
Thanks

REALLY?!
Is there really no one who knows about this? It seems that many people have them... I guess they're not too common, I am just wondering if the one at diyalbs is good or not or what.
Thanks!

I searched and found plenty of threads descussing condensor lenses, it just seems that the most recent only includes people talking with alan about buying his lens. Nothing about if it works well, how big of a decrease of distance between light bulb and fresnel can be expected, how much brighter the picture got etc... results...
I realized that there was info about the lenses, just didn't see anything about alan's specifically. Sorry bout that.

I dont think alan started shipping them yet. I'm sure his condenser will do the job. Either way it's not going to hurt your brightness.
yeah, prolly
Yeah, I guess it can't... I was just hoping for some results... before/after thoughts. If they don't exist yet though, that ok.
Thanks for the info, even with my noobity starting the thread.
