Hi need some help in specifying concrete mix for a smooth white finish of concrete cast in smooth MDF form work. Thanks.
Don't expect the cast surface to meet your finish requirements unless you are making it yourself and have high power vibration and vacuum chambers.
You could try the mix for counter tops. You could use melamine and mold release wax. Your surface will be smoother and you can finish it. A little research on concrete counter tops might steer you in the right direction for your project.
Don't counters require a lot of trowel work to get the cream to the top?
Of course, there is always Bondo.

I do not know the precise mix but adding some PVA is a good idea. Either PVA designed for cement mixes or just ordinary woodworkers PVA glue.
I am thinking about making some concrete blocks for my Celestion SL6 speakers. I am planning on making 3 inch thick slabs and standing the slabs one on top of the other - this will make moving the stands easier. I have thought out the mould - I am going to use MDF and planed pine. I am going to use model aircraft wing covering which is waterproof to seal the wood surfaces. A common brand is Solarfilm.
