I think it is an ST TEA2025B amp.
Hehe that's what I thought. This chip amp is very sweet. Only about 1.4W if I'm not mistaken. But driven with class-A gain stage the amp can be driven into clipping. But the speaker must be fullrange and sensitive. Unfortunately I usually need more power 😀
I am very fond of the X-230 set, I own 4 now 🙂 One in the garage, one in my sons room, one next to pc, and one will be transformed into sound bar under tv in bedroom.
for the price you get it, its hard to beat. I bought them for 25 pounds new or 15 euros used. Really cheap and plenty of punch, the woofer needs some port stuffing, or the resistor mod to better control it, but thats it.
I was so impressed with them, that I bought the 5.1 set (z-906 or something) for the living room. I am not fond of HT, so a lot of slam and boom and punch is ok 🙂
Its small, so high WAF, its cheap, and when I crank it up on HD stuff, the neighbors are jumping 🙂 feeding it from HT media player I could not ask for quicker and cheaper solution 🙂
But not recommended for stereo, that is a different cup.
Bought the S220 for my friends son, and for nearfield music and games also good
