i want to use two computer fans in my set up. now normally i would also need to get a computer power supply to connect, but is it possible to connect power to the fans without a computer power supply i.e. a direct cable?

Sure, you can do it with an old 2 prong extension cord.
Giving unqualified advice will kill someone some day!
DO NOT DO THIS! PC fans are typically 12 volts DC.

Be aware that most computer fans run on 12 volts. I hope that you by "direct cable" don't mean connecting the fans directly to mains... That would be very bad and dangerous. Give them 12 volts, or slightly lower for quieter operation (and less cooling power).toufik7 said:i want to use two computer fans in my set up. now normally i would also need to get a computer power supply to connect, but is it possible to connect power to the fans without a computer power supply i.e. a direct cable?
go to radio shack....yes there are stores that sell stuff its not all just online LOL JK an get yourself a 12 Volt power supply< the kind that has the barrell Plug and just hack off the plug and use the 2 qires, Though a PC power supply is Much cheaper and can run more fans.
