Been enjoying free p+p with RS Components for a good while now on small orders.
Sadly its come to end now with a £3.95 charge on sub £30 orders.
And I am a trade account holder.
Farnell are worse at £4.99 for sub £40 orders.
CPC are best with free £17.50+ orders.
Been using CPC a few times now as they tend to be cheaper than RS.
4700uf 35v cap £2 at RS, 60p at CPC.
USB B pcb socket £1.30 at RS, £0.25p at CPC.
CPC also do smaller quantities than RS.
I hate buying 10 off when I need just one.
At least comes within a day or two these days.
In the 1980's I had to fill in an order form and post it to Maplin.
Then get the order back about a week later, ta least what they had in stock.

I have used Mouser a few times for semiconductors.
Just had a thought and need to check on my next order. With the UK sales/vat is paid on shipping so if it’s free shipping - is that still added to the overall vat?
Maybe they pay shipping but not the VAT of shipping?

In EU both Mouser and Digikey are free shipping above € 50.
I believe CPC = Farnell, no?
Farnell have a warehouse 10 km from where I am ...

That's unlikely, that would be fraud.Maybe they pay shipping but not the VAT of shipping?
VAT has to be charged (and then transferred to the Government) over the total order cost. If, as a seller, you don't include shipping cost in the order you are not allowed to charge VAT on shipping.

So they would/should be paying the free shipping VAT. Makes sense. That's unlikely, that would be fraud.

You are paying VAT on parts , shipping is free, at least for Mouser UK-UK, sender-receiver.
When ordered and payed last night parts were 40,xx , shipping free, at the last check point they count VAT into the price and then payout via PayPal.
I just had a breef look at the Invoice, total was 46,xx ( 46,50 think ) and this 6 Pounds was declared as VAT.
