Completely New to DIY

I haven't heard the Amigas or the B&Ws, but I have built more than one design by Paul Carmody (the designer of the Amigas) and have been impressed every time.
A few suggestions I have are
1) Replace the electrolytic caps in your current crossover. If they're 30-40 years old, the caps might have degraded.
2) Build these- Sunflowers
I built a pair and only build others out of curiosity or boredom. They satisfy me to the point that I don't want to replace them. However, with that being said,
3) build these- RS-225 WAW
It's is a long thread, but you can build these without reading every post. You can build bookshelf speakers or floor standing designs. I went with the floor standing approach. I built them and they rival my Sunflowers. Both use the RS-225 woofer, and there is something very special about that driver, at least to me.

Just my 2 cents...
I've been scouring the web for reviews of Carmody's Sunflowers (not much out there) and you happen to have also built my alternate option, the floor standing 10f/RS-225. You're probably one of a handful of people in the world in the middle of my little speaker Venn diagram! Could you further enlighten me on your experience with them?

I assume the low end will be a wash, but I'm curious if the Sunflower's OB mids and tweeter combo will really outshine the wideband of the 10f. It's for a 70/30 HT/Music room with a solid sub. I can fortunately still hear north of 17khz so I'm worried I'll miss the sparkle of a tweeter. Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask, my account is too new to send a direct message.

No problem. Ask away. I can only go by what I hear, and my hearing doesn't stretch to 17KHz. I would imagine the Sunflowers have a better high end, only because they have a dedicated tweeter. I could be wrong, but that's my take on it. Otherwise, they do sound equally good to me. I only use them for music, so I can't provide any insight to HT.
I wish I had more concrete answers, but sound quality is pretty subjective and my hearing isn't that great.

Honestly, it would be a flip of the coin as far as sound quality. If I had to choose which one to build, I'd look at cost and complexity. The 10f/RS225 has a DiyAudio group, so there's that. You can even get the crossover PCBs for them. I listen to the Sunflowers more, only because they're in my main listening room.
Again, nothing concrete.
