Response curves are dominated by the driver response since there are no XOs getting in the way. The rest is how far down the bass goes (and its nature) and subtleties such as the character of the edge and baffle diffraction.
Response curves only tell you so much.

Do note that that design is for the Alpair 10.1 and will not be very suitable for A10.3 (or A10.2 or A10p)

Also did a design for the Alpair 10.3 as shown on the plans I have.Which is designed for Alpair 10.2.

do you have a pdf ?

Planning to move into a new office space and thinking again of the Poplar against the wall design. It was mentioned earlier that a few builds of this design were underway. Any results as far as sound satisfaction etc.? Any comments appreciated 🙂
Hello,
I am resurrecting this thread because I do not want to open a new one, and I have a question that might fit here.
So, yesterday I became a happy owner of a new pair of 10.3! 🙂
Ultimately, I plan to build either a Pensil or an MLTL, but since my woodworking skills are not so advanced, that may take a while...
In the meantime, I had an idea of using some existing BR boxes (some older "Technics" two-way speakers. They use an 8" woofer, but I can build an adaptor to fit the Alpair).
Box external dimensions are 42x25x22 cm, while internal (if I measured correctly) should be around 38.4x21.4x18.4cm.
That results in a volume of around 15L which should be just fine for Alpair 10.3 s...
Where I am getting confused is the port.
It has one in front (see pic).
It has 4cm diameter and is 6 cm long. Can I use the same port, or just prolong it a bit?
If yes, if I use thee same diameter port, what lengh should it be?
Thanks a lot!

Volume is a bit bigger than i use, but extending the vent to 8.5 cm should bring it as close as you will get.

Thanks Dave.
I know that the box is not ideal, but should do the trick until I get to build something properly.
So, why 10.3?
Well, compromise. Neither the biggest one, nor the smallest. Neither the most expensive, nor the cheapest...
A midddle ground.
(Truth being that I dream of a pair of Lii-18 s in Open Baffle, but that is not doable for the moment, due to the room siz3 and wallet depth limitations) 😀
So, I hope that 10.3 will be goodenough... 😉

It is very nice driver. It does take sometime to break in so do get it moving. Your temposary box will be better than the cardboard one sthey come in.
The volume is close, a couple “bricks” (or braces) to shrink the volume would not hurt. 13 litres is near optimum so you are close.
