Comparing Concrete vs PVC foam Enclosure

Video tests four boxes.

1) PVC foam - empty
2) PVC foam - rockwool stuffed
3) Concrete - empty
4) Concrete - rockwool stuffed.

According to his measurements it didn't look like there was much difference. I don't know what to make of it because I thought heavy enclosures were better.

I'm guessing the 2 enclsoures just damp in different ways due to the nature of the materials. Concrete is highly reflective but too heavy and dense to have its own vibrations. The foam is light but absorbs the reflections and dampens them. I recently watched a video where a guy built a small sub box using 1.5" xps I think and it performed extremely well. It was wild.

I don't, unfortunately. I spent a long time looking shortly after I posted that reply and I can't find it for the life of me. It was something I stumbled on randomly the other night while researching other things and I tried retracing my steps and then just brute-force googling, but to no avail. It was either on here or maybe Audio Circle. The guy was using small drivers like 6's or 8's I recall, and made a ported box using 1.5 inch XPL I think. If I find it again I will definitely post it here.
