Commercial use?

Nothing is for sure yet but...

I might have an opportunity to build a couple (by a couple I actually mean a couple, not huge volume here) subs to sell on a friends commercial dj supply website. Mainly it would be just to make a couple of bucks to spend on my own system.

I'm in highschool so finding funds to build my own projects is always tricky, so I would love to be able to make some money doing what I love, though it would by no means be a hugely lucrative adventure, limited by the immense amount of time building the things take.

The question is what is the general policy on building DIY open source designs with the intent to sell?

Do I need to just give credit? Should I give the designer some percentage of the profit? Other?

I realize that it will probably vary from designer to designer, I just don't want to be stepping on any toes in these parts.

Thanks for the help

if it was me,go ahead and bild/sell as many as you like.
the more subs the marier 🙂

Good to hear! I sent a email to CRESCENDO about the FT30 as it appears he was the main designer on that but he never got back to me. Seeing as your username is included in C/E/X maybe you could weigh in on that particular design.

At this point I am looking into smaller designs but the FT30 was the one I originally wanted to build and I may end up going larger. I'm looking at the TH-18 and the SS15 also though
