Doe's any of you have experienced with diffrent combination of coupling capacitors with good results. We all know the mith about coupling capacitors, and i was thinkin to buy a few Russian Teflon(0.1uF) and use them with wima MKP 10 .
While there are many myths about capacitors, there are indeed construction/material differences which can account for sonic differences in types of caps (eg dialectric absorption, mechanical construction effecting mechanical vibration and thus capacitance, etc).
You have to be careful when combining components. Let's say you have two capacitors made using different technology. One is perfectly linear, but microphonic. The other has a non-linear dielectric, but mechanically completely solid. You don't want to choose between two different problems so you put both in. You then have both problems together - is this an improvement? It may be better to choose the right technology for the application and context.
Some people swear by it, taking the "best" of both worlds.
My experience is contrary to that. The difference in ESR and ESL and capacities are enough to lead to different RC constants for each capacitor and leads to time lags through each capacitor... in other words it causes echoes/muddies the sound. (This was with a Teflon and a PIO in parallel).
