Two things changed with Tannoys in '91: Twin magnets appeared and the pepperpots were replaced by 'tulip' waveguides.

I think the latter had more to do with the improvements than the former.
The only drawback of the tulips from a marketing point of view was that they look (and are) incredibly cheap compared to pepperpots.
It's the old Casio v swiss watch thing again. Marketing and visual perception trumps everything in audiophilia these days and Tannoy re-introduced pepperpots in some of their Prestige line a few years later.

I was trying to find some directivity plots of the GPA 604 yesterday and could not find any.

Does anyone know where I might find one?

B&C has a few coaxials that have some great looking directivity plots on usspeakers.com

I didn't see any mention of the Eminence CX-10 . You can use their APT 50 compression driver or their ASD1001. Some have also used the Selenium D220Ti and prefer that to the ASD1001.
I've just got the CX10 with ASD1001. I like what I hear without any baffle. My OB might take a while.
