I believe this is an original connector with nothing missing on the back of this Denon mini-system, used for FM source connection. I've done a search for UD-M3 images and confirmed there is nothing missing here (ie a plastic insert). The square plastic connector with a wire sitting atop the unit, slips into the pin of this coax-like connector. It is what came with the unit as an antenna. Highly unusual, never seen something like this. Anyone seen this before? Is there a female connector that might make more sense to use on the antenna side?

I have one of these on my stereo too. Check out the SMA, SMB, SMP or similar connectors. SMP are 0.415" diam, mine is 0.39". E

the connector is a 75 Ohm standard UK TV / FM aerial connector, originally made by 'Belling Lee' . this type of connector has been in use here for many years. why it is put on US market kit is a mystery

Calling it a PAL connector is seriously misleading, as it predates PAL colour TV by a few decades! Belling-Lee is what we call it, or sometimes just 'TV coax' when we are being lazy.
The amazon seller and radio shack both refer to it as a "PAL type connector". Anyway, odd to see it on this device, as it is not even dual voltage.
